  • Brady-: Slow (e.g., bradycardia = slow heartbeat).

  • Exo-/Extra-: Outside or external (e.g., extracellular).

  • Cyano-: Blue (e.g., cyanosis = bluish skin due to lack of oxygen).

  • Chloro-: Green (e.g., chlorophyll).

  • Melano-: Black (e.g., melanoma = skin cancer).

  • Flav-: Yellow (e.g., flavoprotein).

3. Body-Related Word Roots

General Body Regions

  • Homeo-: Body or similar (e.g., homeostasis).

  • Cephalo-: Head (e.g., cephalic).

  • Cervico-: Neck (e.g., cervical spine).

  • Thoraco-: Chest (e.g., thoracic cavity).
